How long does skimmed plaster take to dry before I can paint?

Allow 3–7 days depending on room temperature, ventilation and the thickness of the coat. The plaster will change from dark pink to a uniform pale colour when fully dry.

Can you skim over painted walls?

In most cases yes, but the existing surface needs to be prepared properly first – loose material removed and the wall treated with PVA bonding agent. We'll assess this when we quote.
